After a career which began in 1976, September see's the retirement of Rickard Luckin Director and business advisor, Ian Plunkett.
Having joined almost 45 years ago as the first new employee of the then merged Bird Luckin and Sheldrake, Ian has been influential in helping to build the Chelmsford office to what it is today. Ian became partner in 1981, and an equity partner in 1986, before being promoted to take on the role of Managing Director on two separate occasions. Now with 3 offices across Essex, it is safe to say his influence and involvement has been substantial.
Reflecting on his career, Ian says:
“I will leave the firm with many fond memories of where we have helped clients grow, and how we have supported them in achieving their ambitions - something I am confident the team at Rickard Luckin will continue to do. I have worked with some inspiring characters, and have got to know some great professional contacts over the years, from law firms, surveyors, and banks who have become good friends along the way. I have always been passionate about the role we perform here, and where ingenuity and discovery solutions have solved numerous problems for clients. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the firm and am proud of what has been achieved and how it is positioned for the future”.
Ian has been a mentor and a friend as well as a business colleague and will be missed by the team and clients alike. A trusted advisor in every sense. We would like to thank Ian for his contribution to the business over the last 4 decades and we wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement.
Whilst Ian will be missed by colleagues and clients, he leaves Rickard Luckin at a time when the future of the firm could not look more promising. We now have in place a newly expanded leadership team in our Southend office, which is another future-focussed move aimed at strengthening our commitment and position within the Southend area. This expansion is alongside the announcement that Rickard Luckin will be led, as of 1 October, by new MD Steve Revill, who will be tasked with leading the firm in the years ahead as it continues to help its clients realise their potential and achieve their aims.
