Festive performance raises money for charities

A team of accountants from one of Essex’s largest firms, Rickard Luckin, have joined a team of professionals from Southend who are taking on employees from Barclays bank in a charity football match this month.

The three players, Daniel Shpella, Scarlett Keeling O’Callaghan and James Norcott, from Rickard Luckin will be part of the team taking on the squad of bankers on 26 May at Roots Hall Stadium, Victoria Avenue, Southend-on-Sea.

An entry donation collected at the gate will go to Havens Hospices, a charity which provides care to adults and children with life limiting conditions.

The gates open at 6pm and the event will include a charity auction and raffle, as well as food and drinks to keep people refreshed while they cheer on their favourite team.

Jamie Nice, a Director at Rickard Luckin and a participant of the annual charity match in previous years, said: “Havens Hospice helps a lot of people throughout Essex and we are proud that our team are supporting such a wonderful cause again this year.

“We need as many people as possible to come to the match and fill the stands at the Roots Hall Stadium, so that we can raise as much money as possible.”

This is the third year in a row that accountants from the firm have taken part in the event, which has already helped raise tens of thousands of pounds for the hospice.
