Case study: Westcliff High School for Boys

19/09/2019

The school was founded in 1920, so we're just coming up on to our centenary . We moved to this site in 1926.

We're a state school, grammar school. We have about 850 pupils, all boys, in the main school a mixed sixth form of about 350 pupils.

The reason behind the foundation for the school was to offer opportunity to pupils within this local area, so the school is focused on social mobility.

One of the things we're most proud of is the opportunities that we have created across the last 100 years for pupils within this area and a little further afield, in order to realize their potential.

Ordinary pupils are heading off to the best universities in the land and taking up significant positions out there in the world of industry and beyond.
