Making hay while the sun shines! Rickard Luckin are proud sponsors of the Annual Ploughing Match at Hawkwell Hall Farm
Accountancy and ploughing have more in common than may first appear, with precision and accuracy essential criteria for both.
So it makes perfect sense that Rickard Luckin is once again the proud sponsor of the Rochford Hundred Agricultural Society’s Annual Ploughing Match – which as ever, promises to be a fantastic family fun day out with a refreshingly rural twist!
Held on Saturday 23rd September from 9am until 2pm, the fun farming event will be held at Hawkwell Hall Farm in Rectory Road, Hockley – the home of Rochford farmer W.E. Purkiss & Son. The event will be packed with local farming and agricultural experts (as well as Rickard Luckin’s specialist agricultural team), and is the perfect setting to relax and mingle in the great outdoors.
The Annual Ploughing Match is a true celebration of one of the major agricultural inventions in human history, and will feature ploughing vehicles throughout the ages, including vintage and horse-drawn ploughs as well as the traditional tractor. Points will be awarded for straightness and neatness of the resulting furrows by this year’s President of the Agricultural Society, David Milbourn, of Essex-wide property experts Whirledge & Nott.
Those attending the event are invited to pay a visit to Rickard Luckin’s friendly marquee, where they will find plenty of well-deserved refreshments on hand – including the legendary cream teas prepared by Tina Gould, wife of Rickard Luckin Director Bill Gould.
Rickard Luckin are keen supporters of the agricultural industry, offering a regular Agricultural Briefing newsletter prepared by their in-house specialist team (view the latest edition here) and sponsoring regular farming events including the Essex Young Farmers’ Country Show. Each February, the firm hold an annual presentation on succession planning for farming families.
