Fun until the cows came home – the 2019 Essex Young Farmers’ Show!

The 2018 Essex Young Farmers’ Show was a huge hit, attended by over 15,000 guests.  As our team at Rickard Luckin can confirm, this year’s event on Sunday 19th May was every bit as lively and entertaining!

Sponsored by various agricultural businesses and professional firms including Rickard Luckin, the popular event was once again held at Chelmsford’s Boyton Hall – in which awaited something for absolutely everyone.

Along with the ever-popular equine and sheep shows, the main attraction was the Monster Truck Display Team (aka Big Pete and the Grim Reaper) in the largest ring, complete with lively commentary that had the crowd laughing and cheering along.  Meanwhile, the legendary lawn mower racing event saw plenty of the usual creativity on display!

Visitors could also head for the Livestock Ring and watch the best local cattle, pigs and sheep compete for the title of Overall Champion, and there were plenty of opportunities to shop-till-you-drop, with a wide variety of rural crafts and food stands to enjoy.  The little ones were also kept well-entertained, with fun fairground rides.

Once again, Rickard Luckin’s Agriculture team were out in force as one of the Essex Young Farmers’ Show sponsors.  In our comfy marquee, guests were treated to a spread of bacon rolls and cream teas washed down with Pimm’s, as they chatted with our team of experts.

A long-established and keen supporter of the agricultural community, Rickard Luckin is proud to support high profile farming events, as well as preparing a regular Agricultural Bulletin that informs and updates on the many changes faced by the sector.
