Charity receive generous donation from local accountants
Local charity the Lady McAdden Breast Screening Trust (BUST) has received more than £1,000 from Rickard Luckin.
Kate Bell, Director at the firm, has handed over a cheque for £1,150 to representatives of BUST at their office next to Southend Hospital.
The donation was raised from the firm’s annual carol concert held in Westcliff-on-Sea in December and will go towards the organisation’s work in supporting, creating awareness and caring for people with breast cancer. BUST is completely dependent on donations to enable them to continue their work as they are not NHS funded.
Kate said: “I was so honoured to be invited to come down to BUST’s unit to handover this donation. The charity does excellent work and it is a privilege to give to a charity who has served the public of Essex since it was founded in 1976.”
“I would like to thank everyone who attended and supported our carol concert, helping us to raise so much money for this wonderful organisation.”
To boost the firm’s fundraising total even further two of the practice’s team members, Jodie Stead and Gina Mills, are planning to leap from a plane to raise more money for BUST.
The two colleagues have already registered more than £1,200 in donations ahead of the jump, which takes place on 18 June 2016, and are encouraging more people to support them by visiting www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Gina-and-Jodie
