05/10/2021

Award-winning Essex accountancy firm Rickard Luckin is pleased to announce some exciting news concerning a number of promotions amongst its Associate team this month.

David Tallon, Hayley Sheppard, Jan Mansfield and Louise Groves have all been recognised for their excellent contribution to the success of our clients, as well as the successful completion of the firms Promotions Pathways initiative which is a key part of our People Development Programme - a transparent framework to facilitate progression between roles across the firm.

In his role as an Associate, David Tallon will oversee and develop the firm’s tax compliance and advisory offering for high net worth individuals, whilst Hayley Sheppard will be taking on a leading role in expanding our corporate tax consulting. Jan Mansfield will take up a new role leading our charity and Not for Profit sector offering, and Louise Groves will become a key player in driving Rickard Luckin’s Small Business Unit towards sustained growth and expansion in these ever changing times.

Needless to say, our four new associates are all very much looking forward to embracing their new roles within the firm, which take effect from 1 October:

“I am excited to help develop our private client offering. We are a large and growing tax team and to be able to help lead this team to support our clients is a great opportunity that I am really looking forward to.” – David Tallon

Jamie Nice, Head of Tax & Financial Planning also adds: “David’s promotion is well deserved and down to his hard work and dedication in delivering a first class service to his clients. David is technically excellent and has throughout his career completed a number of qualifications, he is both ATT and CTA qualified and recently became a member of STEP having completed their exams which focus on international tax planning, trusts and estates.”

“I am delighted to become part of the tax leadership team and contribute to the firms strategic planning. I look forward to continuing to work with our clients to help them achieve their objectives, whilst supporting and developing the wider tax team.” – Hayley Sheppard

James Boustead, Director at Rickard Luckin, adds: “Since Hayley joined us nearly 3 years ago she has developed rapidly into being, in my view, one of the finest tax advisers in the region. Hayley truly lives the core values of our firm and combines a high level of technical skills with being extremely likeable and proactive. I am delighted that she has been promoted to Tax Associate.”

“As we continue to adjust to the ‘new normal’ I am excited for what the future holds. Not only will I still work with my wonderful clients but to be given the opportunity to lead and develop our Charity and Not for Profit sector is an honour and a challenge which I cannot wait to embrace.” – Jan Mansfield

“Jan is the embodiment of our values and her passion for helping clients is evident on a daily basis. I’m delighted she is embracing the new challenge of leading our Charity and Not for Profit sector, and know she will do so with a huge amount of commitment and enthusiasm.“ comments Mike Breame, Director at Rickard Luckin.

“Having worked at Rickard Luckin for 11 years now, it feels great to be able to work alongside the strong Leadership Team that we have here. The Small Business Unit (SBU) continues to grow and develop and I am excited to work with Kevin and the team to support our clients.” – Louise Groves

Speaking on the announcement, Kevin Thomas, SBU Director at Rickard Luckin, had this to say: “These promotions are a clear recognition of the commitment to great client service, teamwork and vision, and all four promotions will be an asset to the firm as we head into 2022. Having worked closely with Louise, I know she will be a key player in driving the SBU team forward.”

As Rickard Luckin continues to focus on providing its clients with the highest level of service across Essex, these much deserved promotions are another future-focussed move aimed at strengthening our position as one of Essex’s leading tax and accountancy firms. It is also testament to our commitment around the continued professional development of our people – something you’d expect from a firm recently ranked as the 8th Best Accountancy Firm to work for in the UK by Best Companies.
